Amy E. Wilson, Ph.D.
Dr. Amy Wilson is a licensed psychologist with many years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. She conducts individual and family therapy addressing issues such as anxiety, depression, child and adolescent behavioral problems, women's issues, and parenting. Other areas of specialty include divorce/custody issues, cognitive-behavioral treatment of anxiety disorders (e,g, generalized anxiety disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder, panic disorder), and treatment of adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse. Dr. Wilson also conducts custody evaluations and other psychological assessments.
Dr. Wilson is a member of the Georgia Psychological Association, the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, and the Collaborative Law Institute of Georgia. In addition to her practice as a clinical psychologist, her experience includes extensive research on anxiety and posttraumatic stress, teaching a community class on divorce and its impact on families and children, serving as a consultant to the juvenile justice system, and lecturing on a variety of topics including anxiety disorders, child sexual abuse, and self-esteem issues.
Dr. Wilson received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Georgia. She also holds an M.Ed in Counseling Psychology from the University of Mississippi and a B.A. from the University of Virginia. She received her residency training at the University of Virginia School of Medicine.
